About Us

The idea of Sword & Meadow was formed from years of collecting.  In the fall of 2024, Jamie decided to create something different; she had recently moved from Boston, MA, and needed an outlet outside of her professional work in audio, music, and sound design for media.  Creating a booth by hand within Portland, OR's very own Memory Den,  the space looked like a makeshift castle, with items that ranged from true medieval art to handmade clothing.  Full of carefully selected unique objects, the booth hosted antique and handcrafted home decor, jewelry, faerie-like clothing, entomological displays, personal ancestral elements, historical items, furniture, and more, all while paying tribute to the esoteric and natural world. 

Jamie and James fell in love, and everything became more fun and easy.  They built another booth in Memory Den, this one a bit more structured and pretty, and began selling at local popup markets.  After finding success in doing so, they decided to open a store with their learnings, with the goal of hosting a space for others to have to vend. While everyone’s’ work is so uniquely different, it all comes together and just sort of fits.  With nearly 20 vendors, and the shop’s grand opening set for September 26th, 2026 at 12PM, at 1123 SE Market Street, Portland, OR the shop is a beautiful spot ready to be your new favorite place.

Being far from home themselves, our hope is that the pieces sold in the shop will allow folks to create a special place for themselves, no matter where their new path has taken them.
